Wizz Air’s got a knack for making you feel like an explorer without draining your wallet. In 2025, they’re doubling down on Europe’s under-the-radar spots like Albania and Moldova, with new routes and bases that scream adventure. Toss in their eco-friendly edge, and you’ve got a recipe for trips that hit all the right notes.
Moldova’s the big one. They’re adding two Airbus A320s in Chișinău (December 2025 and March 2026), launching six new routes: Hamburg (3x weekly), Frankfurt Hahn (2x), Copenhagen (2x), Brussels Charleroi, Barcelona, and Paris Beauvais. That’s 34 routes to 16 countries – their biggest network yet. Chișinău’s all about cheap wine, hearty food, and old-school charm. Albania’s another gem: a new Stockholm-to-Tirana route starts March 2026 (4x weekly). Think beaches like Greece, mountains like the Alps, and prices that won’t sting.
In Romania, Craiova gets four new routes to Paris Beauvais, Naples, Athens, and Barcelona, hitting 14 destinations for winter 2025/2026. Macedonia’s Skopje adds six routes, and Poland’s Gdańsk gets Madrid and Catania. Wizz keeps it green with CO2 emissions at 49.6g per passenger-kilometer, thanks to Airbus A321neos. Engine issues with Pratt & Whitney grounded 41 planes, but they’re still growing, with a new Warsaw Modlin base in December.
Why’s this cool? Wizz Air’s opening up places with real soul, minus the tourist crowds. Tickets start at €29.99, and their app’s a deal-hunter’s dream. I’m eyeing Tirana for beaches and cheap rakija. Where are you headed?
